About Me

I am a Junior Software Developer at Database Consultants Australia with over 6 years of experience as a programmer. I have also worked at Access Bank (the largest bank in Africa) as a full-stack developer. While I'm a proficient full-stack developer, my expertise is in building scalable backend (API) services.

I love learning new things. Although learning different programming languages and web development frameworks at University has been helpful, I'm most attracted to applying what I have learnt in solving real customer problems with a business justification. I am currently looking for a junior full-stack developer role in Australia where I can take on collaborative team leadership responsibilites, and gain experience with web development and project management.

Highlights

  • Part of a team working on a web application called IMaaS (Infringement Management as a Service) which aims to help different government councils in Australia manage the lifecycle of infringements; mainly parking, animal, and local law infringements.
  • Built an application, using .NET Core, that allows tellers and branch managers in every Access Bank branch to carry out a call over of the transactions done within the branch. Delivered ahead of schedule, increased productivity within the branches by over 30%.
  • Automated the process of settlement and reconciliation of the ATM, POS and web transactions carried out by the bank's customers, saving hundreds of hours of the bank's staff that carried out this process manually beforehand.

Interests

My personal interests include:

  • Parallel Programming. Gained this interest after taking a course at my University called 'Parallel Programming with GPUs'. I just love the idea of how the performance and efficiency of a program can be improved by doing things in parallel and I'm currently going through more courses to improve my knowledge in this subject.
  • Machine Learning and AI. I enjoy reading about different machine learning algorithms and topics. I am also very enthusiastic about the future of AI.
  • Music. I listen to different types of music and I also mainly play three instruments: piano, guitar and drums.
  • Football. I am a Juventus fan and I love watching and playing football.

Recent Projects

  • I built an application (specifically for my mother), using the MERN stack, which allows anyone to keep a record of the amount of products they have in their shop and see how much the shop is worth. It's basically a digital stock book.
  • Built a web application that allows freelancers connect with each other online.

Other Things

  • Volunteered as a mentor of two first year Computer Science students.
  • Achieved the highest overall average grade at the Sheffield International College.
  • Finished secondary school with 5 A*'s and 3 A's in my GCE O Level Cambridge results.
